App Store Breakdown: The Matrix, Multi-screen iOS App

It’s true… you can now do Triple-Wide digital signage on Apple’s iPad! Recently released on the iTunes App store, the app “The Matrix” allows you to connect multiple iPads together and streams graphics and images that you build within the app. Here’s a picture:

The biggest downside to the app as far as we see it is that it won’t play video files… but we believe that this is a step in the right direction and another reason why we believe that multi-screen will continue to become a technology that people want to implement. Imagine how cool it would be if we had a wall of iPads somewhere that content was streaming on… oh the possibilities.

Here’s a screenshot of the interface:

So as you can tell, here you have the ability to assign how many rows and columns of iPads you have. Below we embedded the YouTube video that explains a bit more how the interface and functionality works… Hopefully it will be able to support video sooner rather than later…

If nothing else, this is a very cool idea and we’re excited to see that others are just as passionate about triple-wide media and technology!
