Visualizing the Second Sunday of Advent

The Second Sunday of Advent focuses on peace. Peace is a concept often lost in the world we live in. The stresses of life, uncertainties, and strife around the world can leave the concept of peace as an afterthought. Don’t miss out on this moment.

CHRISTMAS CANDLES

Visualizing the First Sunday of Advent - Peace

Celebrating Advent has always been a big part of my church life. Whether at my home church growing up or any of the churches I have served at over the years, it’s been the focal point of the Christmas season. For week two of Advent, the second candle is lit symbolizing peace. In John 14:27, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”

With two purple candles now lit, the tone shifts from the coming hope that Christ brings to the peace that He gives us. Don’t overlook this peace in this tumultuous Christmas season.

The visuals we have chosen are simple, subtle, and peaceful. Use them as a springboard for transforming your room into a place of peace that all are welcome this Christmas season.
