The Resurrection: Overcoming Impossible

The Resurrection of  Jesus was the final & winning touch down that made the human race champions for the rest of their lives. It wasn’t enough for Jesus to show his children that he loved them. He  also had to show us that He is all powerful and bigger than the darkest thing in life which is death. Witnessing the resurrection happened in many different locations, but it is at the vantage point of the tomb where we are reminded of the impossible becoming possible.

Jesus Appeared to His Disciples

33 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together 34 and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” 35 Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread. 36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence (Luke 24).

Even when Jesus had told them time and time again that he would resurrect, his followers still didn’t believe that Jesus would actually come through with his promise.

Sometimes we are like the disciples. We understand the concept of the easter story, and we know how we think we want our set ups come out, but somewhere a long the way we begin to worry and second guess if God really will show up at a certain time  or if we can actually make this happen. But Jesus’s work on the cross reminds us that he’s already done the hard work, you just have to be faithful servants and he will do the rest.

We have been called or encouraged to use our creativity to impact the way people experienced Sunday services; don’t second guess your abilities now. The Lord has already justified you and appointed you just like the disciples, to bring glory to his name here on earth, and you can do that! Just remember that every piece of content, every stage design prop, and every set of lights are all just enhancers of the resurrection story. Jesus doesn’t need you to make his story effective, but he desires to use you.

Celebrate the Resurrection beyond just Easter Sunday with The Resurrection Vantage Point. Below is a small sample of the content to transform your environment this weekend.
